I recently got a new boost of excitement and encouragement to continue doing one of the things God has called me to do, and that’s connecting with you guys on my blog!
So here’s a little life update post:
We have a nine month old already! Pretty soon Micah will be one, and it seems like this first year has gone by super fast. I am incredibly thankful because God has blessed me to be able to be present at home through it all. With all the COVID-19 stuff, my job has been 100% remote, and I’m loving it! So it has been a blessing to be able to experience and witness all of those firsts in-person!
Oh yea, and I’m 6 months pregnant with our second son! He’ll be joining the family in September!
My husband and I are in the process of buying our first house, and we are just awaiting move-in day! We are very excited about that, because to be honest it’s a really big deal. I feel like a grown up now haha! Our life is currently: boxes, boxes, boxes. One day I will share the testimony on the Uncommon Grace podcast!
COVID-19 and Other News
In the midst of a pandemic going on in the world, I am reminded that our fight is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). As saints we are to walk by faith at all times, and our faith in God pleases our Father (Hebrews 11:6).
So even though there is a lot of stuff going on around the world, and things have dramatically changed for the way that we do things, it’s important that we still remember to keep our faith. We still remember the promises of God over what it may look like. Remember that all things work out for the good for those that love God, and who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Remember that God will protect you from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3). Remember that we are more than conquerors through Christ (Romans 8:37).
Some things that are helping me keep my peace during this time are:
- Limiting the news I let myself listen to, in order to protect my faith
- Staying in the presence of the Lord by taking breaks throughout the day to renew my mind on who God is and thanking Him for what He has already done in my life (Psalm 100:4)
Here is a list of some scriptures to help encourage your faith during this time: Bill Winston Ministries Resources.
We are officially entering summer, so let’s enjoy it even though everything around us may be saying we shouldn’t!
