Are You Limiting God By How You View Yourself?

I was looking up scriptures today about not limiting God. In our home buying journey, I thought I was going to use the scriptures to help me continue to have an open mind on the limitless possibilities of God. Sometimes we are expecting Him to move a certain way, but we are actually limiting Him by our narrow minds and smaller view of life. God is limitless, uncontrolled by time, and can do the impossible. He created everything!

Instead I ran into a blog post by Andrew Womack. The post talked about how we can be limiting God’s ability to move through us based on our imagination of ourselves. Challenged to think bigger on multiple occasions in his life, Andrew Womack was allowed to see the power of God manifest in every area of life in more ways than before.

I decided to write this post as a step toward imagining myself as God has called me. I’m here for you and other women, as we continue to discover together what God’s Kingdom can look like in everyday life. I’m here to encourage you to keep walking in faith. I’m here to encourage you to trust God. I’m here as an example for other women.

Sometimes we can let the idea of how things should look be a distraction for what we should be doing. Sometimes the smallness of the beginning lets us forfeit what God is trying to do through us. Even further, the smallness of how we view ourselves, in our heart, lets us forfeit the power of God manifesting more fully in other people’s lives.

What ways have you been thinking too small about yourself? Who are you in God’s eyes, and what’s holding you back from being that? Maybe it’s time to change the way you think about yourself.

“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord , β€˜plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NASB)
