Happy

Happy

notably fitting, effective, or well adapted : FELICITOUS. enjoying or characterized by well-being and contentment

I can honestly say I’m happy today. Filled with joy and contentment for the life God has so wonderfully blessed me with! The journey I’ve taken to get here has brought me closer to God and I’m thankful for it.

I’ve pasted the definition of happy here, and I like how it says “notably fitting… or well adapted.”

For years I couldn’t understand why God called me to the life he did so suddenly. For those that don’t know, within a year of receiving salvation the Lord called me to get married in a quick time frame (which is a wonderful testimony with multiple layers). We then entered into a season of rapid but refining seasons immediately following (from me graduating from college, to pastoring, to kids back to back, etc) To say the least, I was not well adjusted, adapted, or any other words that you could find to match those.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord .  “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8‭-‬9 NASB)

And to say the least (again), God’s plan for my life wasn’t what I had planned. It was through those seasons of my life that I’ve learned to trust and depend on God like I wouldn’t have learned if everything went the way I expected it to go. I learned so much about myself. I learned so much about God.

I wouldn’t change what I’ve been through for the testimony that it has brought out of me. I started my salvation journey happy and joyful, but this is such a fuller happy. A more experienced happy. A joy that can’t be taken.

If you’re going through something, just know that God is using it to refine you and make you a better version of you. You’ll come out of this stronger, wiser, and better than you came into it. Trust God, because His thoughts are above ours and He has a good expected end all prepared for your future! It’s glorious!

SMILE 😊

Our sons Micah and August.
