Set Up For Blessing

I remember when I was first saved, one of the first things that began happening in my life was the Lord began shifting the relationships around me. He began highlighting different things about them that would show me I couldn’t keep going with it. It wasn’t that people were just overly terrible or anything but if I was going begin this new life as a daughter of God my life had to be surrendered to Him. I had to surrender and believe that the old Sydnie had died and the new Sydnie had been born (2 Corinthians 5:17). I had to realize that certain relationships revived the old version of me, and that wasn’t conducive to my new nature.

As my pastor preached to us recently, “bad company corrupts good morals,” (1 Corinthians 15:33). I had to let go of long time friends, I had to let go of the sorority I was in, I had to let go of who Sydnie used to be.

Sometimes that company you are busy trying to hold onto is holding you back from the blessing of community God want to surround you by.

In my life, I’ve seen God turn it around for the good. After letting go of all those things, the Lord supernaturally blessed me with a community and family that abundantly replaced where I used to be. People that feed into me, teach me, I can learn from, cheer me on, support me, pray for me, keep the devil away, and help keep me in the will of God.

So I’m writing this to remind us all to allow God to set our lives up. Let Him set it up in such a way that you can’t fall away from the blessing of God. Let Him set your life up in such a way that you can’t help but to prosper and be blessed. He wants you sooooo blessed that it trickles down for generations. He wants you so blessed that you’re obedience shifts whole entire regions. But will you trust Him with that thing He’s asking you for? Will you give up that mentality? Will you give up that boyfriend, for the man of God husband He wants to bless you with? Will you give up that sorority for supernatural favor and promotion He wants to bless you with? Will you give up that job for unfathomable riches He wants to bless you with so that you can be a blessing? Will you trust God?

Allow Him to show you His goodness, because it will surely come to pass!
