Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14 NASB1995
I’m learning at this point in my life that God wants to be my source of supply for everything. I feel like I knew that before, but now I’m hearing it a little deeper than I did before.
In the story with Samaritan woman at the well in John 4, Jesus asked her to give Him a drink. And in exchange she would receive living water. Water that she would never have to thirst again.
I never saw it this way but Jesus was asking her for as seed. She, a Samaritan women, would have given Jesus a seed of a drink and in return she would have received living water that never runs dry.
God has been highlighting areas where I maybe still had a mindset like the world. Areas where I hadn’t had my eyes opened to the truth of His word yet. Encouraging me to jump off the cliff into trusting Him more deeply.
What areas is God trying to get you to be more like Him? What areas is He trying to get you to surrender even more into trust of His word?
God wants to supply our EVERY need and it will never run dry. Whether it’s life that never runs dry, resources that never run dry, or healing that never runs dry. God is just waiting for us to give up that thing that we are depending on and trust Him with the never ending living water.
I’ve been enjoying this song lately:
